Arkas Game is a game-based learning platform created in 2016 by 4 of the Arkas employees (our talents) who have shown to have high potential during the Arkas HR Department Talent Management Programme of Arkas Holding. The aim of the game is to offer a competitive and fun learning experience by allowing the players to learn the corporate culture and the strategic priorities of the Arkas group, to have more information about the main areas that the company offers services in (namely Agency, Port and Logistics Services) and to find out the risks and the opportunities that may be encountered during the work processes.
Arkas HR Department Talent Management Programme, not only provides a strategic backup plan, but also it allows the company to motivate and track the progress of the staff that will add value to the group. The talents chosen for this programme attend the trainings that are offered and get a chance to put what they have learned into practice with working on specific projects while developing their leadership skills, improving their organizational and planning skills and using their analytical thinking and creativity. At the end of the Talent Management Programme, the talents present the projects they have come up with to the senior management. One of the projects that was presented is the Arkas Game, which emerged as a result of the creativity, leadership skills and the diligence of the talents. Later on, the project became a real life board game, has been integrated with other company projects and made a difference by allowing a diverse and fun learning experience.
Arkas Game provides an opportunity to learn about Arkas and the Arkas locations all around the world (offices, agencies, ports). The board game is a map where all the locations are marked, offering a visual experience, enabling the players to see the bigger picture. You can see all details about Arkas Game on the attachments.
We completed the pilot practice of the Arkas Game, presented it to the upper management and got the approval as to its launch. After the approval, Arkas Human Resources Department organized a Tournament of the Arkas Game to allow the Arkas employees to become a part of this learning experience. For the tournament, 480 questions have been prepared by a professional committee and talent team. The members of this professional committee are dedicated Arkas managers who have been working at Arkas for a very long time and who at the same time are our instructors that deliver job based trainings within the company.
We would like to integrate Arkas Game with our orientation programme to decrease the time of the adaptation period of the new employees and at the same time provide a creative and fun learning experience for the new employees in April 2017. Apart from that we also are working on making the Arkas Game a mobile application in 2018. Thus, we are aiming to learn and improve continuously via mobile. We will be pretty pleased to spread the Arkas Game outside of the company as well. Also we would like adapt the game for specific departments which are encountering problems with other related departments and allow them to understand each other more and increase their communication.
Arkas Game has shown to have a very good influence in the company by the leadership of the team in the Talent Management Programme of Arkas Holding.
