Property management operations are essential to maintaining a property and its value in the market. It’s a highly complex job that encompasses: marketing to ensure units are filled; screening tenants; accounting and managing finances such as setting rental prices, collecting rent, paying taxes/bills and budgeting; communicating with tenants and resolving maintenance issues; and much more.
A property manager, or management company, takes care of all these operational details, which often means jumping from project to project and moving from location to location. They must balance dealing directly with the “customer” and dozens of back-office administrative tasks. While their jobs require them to be agile, property management is often inundated by manual processes, diverting valuable time and resources away from serving clients and growing businesses. It has largely been left behind as other industries have benefited from digital transformations.
