GTT’s comprehensive suite of cloud networking services includes Optical Transport, wide area networking services, Internet, Managed Services, Voice and Video services.
GTT continues to grow dynamically year-over-year as a company, across revenue, services, infrastructure and personnel. The company owes much of its success to a laser-focused growth strategy, which includes: expanding its service portfolio to multinational clients, extending network connectivity to any location in the world and any application in the cloud and delivering outstanding client service with simplicity, speed and agility.
In an industry increasingly marked by falling prices, commoditization and heavy M&A activity, GTT has been consistently resilient and profitable, harnessing the dynamic regulatory climate and industry consolidation trends as fuel for growth. The company grew revenue 41.3% to $521.7 million and Adjusted EBITDA 62.3% to $125.0 million from year-end 2015 to year-end 2016, and is well on its way to achieving its next financial objectives of $1 billion in revenue and $250 million in Adjusted EBITDA.
2016 was a particularly significant year, with GTT completing the acquisition of managed communications service provider One Source Networks, as well as Telnes Broadband, Yipes and RealLinx. Year-end 2016 also brought the announcement of the acquisition of Hibernia Networks, a leading provider of global, high-speed network connectivity solutions and owner of terrestrial and subsea fiber assets.
Aggressive Service and Network Expansion
Through these acquisition efforts and increased organic growth, GTT has substantially grown its service portfolio and increased the size and reach of its network, in both depth and breadth. In the past year, GTT has expanded its global points of presence to more than 300 worldwide, adding optical and video PoPs to its growing roster of Ethernet and IP PoPs. Since January 2016, the company has increased its cloud networking services portfolio substantially, adding voice services, optical transport and video services.
GTT Team and Global Presence
GTT continues to expand its team, ensuring that the right people are in place to drive the business forward and to best serve the needs of its growing client base. GTT’s core commitment is to provide an outstanding client experience, and it has developed and implemented a specific program to achieve this initiative, ensuring that it stands out in the industry in client service. The company’s carefully selected growth strategy has expanded its offices from 17 to 24 and has grown its employee base from 572 to 830 employees between December 2015 and March 2017.
GTT was consistently recognized by multiple awards organizations in 2016 for its leadership in the industry. The company won a gold Stevie ABA for Telecommunications Company of the Year and additional Stevie wins for Fastest Growing Company of the Year and Executive of the Year. Additional accolades included CEO Rick Calder being named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst and Young, product wins for Cloud Connect and SIP Trunking, and being named to the 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for global network service providers. The company’s success with the analyst community has been recognized by firms outside of Gartner as well, with a 388% increase in analyst engagement since year-end 2015.
The company’s ability to sustain rapid and consistent growth and successfully meet aggressive financial goals sets it apart in the crowded and increasingly competitive cloud and telecommunications space. GTT is committed to continuing to grow as the industry’s challenger brand, rapidly expanding through increased network reach, service diversity and its commitment to delivering an outstanding client experience. These qualities make GTT well positioned as a candidate for company of the year in the telecommunications category in the 2017 American Business Awards.
