Rachel Thames was employee number 6, when EnFORM Technology was founded in Houston, 20 years ago. Since then, Rachel has been our rock, some would say the foundation, upon which our organization is built. She has supported our growth from 6 employees and one office, to a team of 150+ in three offices, which is now part of a global organization with 4600+ people in 25 offices across the globe. She has seen us through various mergers, acquisitions and buy-outs, in our time as EnFORM Technology, SunGard EnFORM Consulting, SunGard Global Services, SunGard Consulting Services, FIS Consulting and now Capco Energy Solutions.
Through the various ups and downs of the energy markets, from the Enron debacle of the early 2000s to the boom and later bust cycle of the 2010s, Rachel has seen it all. She has managed the safety and security of our employees through catastrophic events such as Tropical Storm Allison (2001), Hurricane Rita (2005), Hurricane Ike (2008), the Houston Memorial Day flood (2016) and Hurricane Harvey (2017). Through it all, she has kept the Capco offices and the business running like a well-oiled machine, while also caring for the emotional well-being of our employees. “How”, you may ask?
In the last 20 years, there have been at least more than 1,000 employees who have been under Rachel’s “care” at some point in time. She knows every one of them by name. She has sent a personal, hand-written birthday card to not only each current employee, but also each employee’s significant other and their children every single year! She notes down every new birth in the “Capco family” and sends gifts for the newborn, as well as birth announcements to the company. If you or someone in your immediate family is ill or underwent a surgery, you can rest assured that there will be a bouquet of flowers and a hand-written “Get Well Soon” card waiting for you when you get back home. If you suffer the devastating loss of a loved one, Rachel will arrange flowers to be delivered to the memorial services and she’ll be there to ask after your well-being and to offer a shoulder to cry, if needed. And all of this is not even in her “job description”, which sounds like such an empty phrase to describe what Rachel means to all of us and our families. It is no wonder, then, that every single member of our employees’ close families knows and love Rachel as much as the employees. Her birthday cards are the first pieces of actual paper mail, that many of our children received in their lives (who else writes to a three-year-old!). Having just celebrated her 20th anniversary working with us, she is still keeping us in line and ready to help and greet us with her warm, friendly smile! An award doesn’t seem to be enough for what Rachel Thames means to Capco, but we hope this is a small token of our gratitude.

Acted as the safety, evacuation & office closure coordinator & point-of-contact through multiple international/national level natural disasters:

-Arranged for food/care packages, & other aid for those who were victims of Hurricane Harvey.
