Blue Wheel Media: Not for everyone. 2016 saw success and expansion for us as an integrated digital marketing agency comprising strategists, creatives, producers and technologists who share a passion for creating solutions, a distinct and important alternative to simply providing services. Not only did we double revenue in 2016, but we added substantially to our client roster and grew revenue significantly for many of our already existing clients.
The year started off with a bang when we announced we had expanded beyond our headquarters in Troy, Michigan for the first time – to New York City! The exciting development came in tandem with welcoming our Chief Commercial Officer, who leads from the new office in the iconic Flatiron district.
Our second location serves as a space to support our New York clientele base and guide commercial strategy and business development. And business development we’ve had a lot of, this year: We’ve added two dozen new clients, 14 of which utilize our advertising capabilities, 6 for SEO/SEM, 6 for content marketing, 8 for social media, 13 for web, and 4 for marketing automation, among others.
Through SEO/SEM and marketing automation, one of our new clients, Marygrove Awnings, saw a 220% increase in qualified web leads in just three months. Another current client, SHEEX, the world’s first and only performance fabric bedding and sleepwear company, saw year-over-year revenue increase by 300% and profitability up 500% after we launched a powerful #SleepCooler campaign and redesigned the brand’s website.
Our work didn’t go unnoticed this year, either: In 2016 we received accolades from Hermes Creative Awards – Platinum: SHEEX Social Media/Blog and Blue Wheel Media Sizzle Reel; Gold: Blue Wheel Media Agency Website and Frankenmuth Brewery Small Business Website – as well as MarCom Awards – Platinum: Blue Wheel Media Agency Website and Metabolic Nutrition Blog and Website Design; Gold: Blue Wheel Media Sizzle Reel, Trevco Inc. B2B Website, LSG Insurance Partners Website Redesign, and Metabolic Nutrition Branding Refresh and Blog Writing. Blue Wheel also gave back to the community, creating a pro-bono website for Motor City Open, the annual professional squash tournament in Detroit, which sponsors a charity auction benefiting RacquetUp Detroit, an important urban squash and education initiative. We rounded out our charitable efforts by donating to FACES (Finding A Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures) NYU Langone Medical Center and Christ Child Society of Detroit.
All of these developments point to the fact that 2016 for Blue Wheel Media cannot be defined strictly by expansion, profit, and revenue, but celebrated broadly as an auspicious, prosperous, and rewarding year.
