Briefly describe this site’s objectives and how it has met those objectives to date (up to 200 words):
Metrostlouis.org is the gateway for the St. Louis region' s public transportation system, which carries more than 44 million people each year. But for several years, it has been a roadblock instead of a gateway. Outdated interface, too much content, inadequate navigation, made it difficult for riders to get the information they need, and almost impossible for new riders to acquaint themselves with the transit system. Plus, the site was not mobile-compatible, which was a major problem with more than 70 percent of visitors using a mobile device.
In November 2016, we launched a completely redesigned Metro transit website. Not only aesthetically pleasing, the new site has a cleaner design and simpler navigation, with all of the important and most popular information at the top, easy to find. With the focus back on the passenger, the new website brings together a professional appearance with a warmer, more friendly tone, and better functionality. It is also specifically designed for mobile devices. Today, page views have more than doubled, sessions are longer, bounce rate has decreased by more than 35 percent, and the qualitative feedback has been phenomenal.
