Nomination Title: Renu Mobile

Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated company during the eligibility period (up to 500 words):

Renu Mobile, founded in April of 2009, is an innovative mobile marketing enabler
that specializes in unique and highly effective solutions that target mobile phones
and the mobile consumer. It is also the only Mobile SaaS company in the U.S. to
have a female CEO and founder.

The company is one of the first to specialize in ecologically-responsible marketing
via mobile phone, and boasts a combined 20 years of mobile experience servicing
agencies and brands worldwide. Renu Mobile presently works with a number of
clients across a spectrum of different industry segments, and offers a full-service
suite of text message, mobile barcode and WAP products to execute mobile
strategies.

Carol Glennon, founder and Chief Executive Officer, a mobile industry veteran of
over a decade, had a vision to create a company that utilized green technologies
and business practices to focus on delivering mobile solutions to Fortune 500
companies. Renu Mobile enables mobile marketing campaigns to be rolled out
short periods of time inexpensively.

In the first 17 months of the company’s existence, Glennon has achieved just that.
With 84% of her clients in the Fortune 500 and dozens of campaigns already
launched, she is striving to have a stellar first year in business for Renu Mobile.
Renu Mobile’s success is linked to the fact that the mobile phone is the device
that is with the consumer for the most time each day—far more than a single computer
or TV. Creative mobile marketing builds an instant and meaningful bridge to
interactivity, and facilitates the leap from the page to the hand. Creating
interactivity within print, media or outdoor offers layers of experience beyond the
marketing itself.

The single most defining decision in Renu Mobile’s life was Glennon’s creation of a
Mobile Barcode platform which started in December 2009. The platform (Sherpa),
has enabled Renu Mobile’s existing clients to do away with asking users to
manually input large cumbersome URL’s into their mobile phones, and be able to
take a consumer to any web site that a client defines in an instant.

By utilizing one of many free downloadable applications, the user utilizes the
camera on the mobile phone to scan the barcode. Once scanned, the barcode
provides the phone with sufficient information to direct the phone to a URL of any
length. This solution has revolutionized an industry that has long struggled with a
way to get users to their websites, and Renu Mobile has used the technology
available to them to create a versatile tool for clients to create, manage and
report on the success of the barcodes they use.

In summary, Glennon has created Renu Mobile, delivered a robust and versatile
mobile platform, driven the company to profitability, signed many of her targeted
clients and established an enviable Board of Directors in less than 9 months. We
feel that this firmly merits Renu Mobile’s nomination for this years Stevie
award for Technology Innovator of the Year.
