Nomination Category: Individual Categories
Nomination Sub Category: Employee of the Year

Nomination Title: Allison Pinter, Operations Manager

Describe for the judges the activities and accomplishments of the nominated employee during the eligibility period (up to 500 words):

Allison Pinter, a PR industry novice, came in to help lead the operations and
internal functions at Euro RSCG Worldwide PR in mid 2009, when new president
Marian Salzman poached her from the HR department of Euro RSCG Life (the
pharmaceutical advertising entity of parent company Havas). “I immediately saw
Ali’s promise, and I wasted no time in convincing her to join me—I knew her talent
would be invaluable to my task of turning an agency around. And then I had a
pleasant surprise: My expectations were exceeded; she was even more adept and
quick to learn new skills than I had imagined,” said Salzman.

Shortly after her arrival at ERWW PR, Allison was immersed into the public
relations business itself, when she traveled the world in support of several of the
agency’s CSR campaigns. She was on hand in London for the inaugural One
Young World summit, where she helped run the media room for such luminaries
as Desmond Tutu and Kofi Anan, and traveled with Lauren Bush and managed her
press. So good was the word on Ali from the Euro staff in London that we shortly
thereafter sent her to Los Angeles for Toyota’s Pro/Celebrity Race (which benefits
a California children’s hospital), where she worked with Adrian Brody, Keanu
Reeves and Brian Austin Green, among others.

But the most exciting experience, and one that touched Ali the most, was her
travel to Haiti upon the six-month anniversary of the earthquake in support of
Grammy-winning musician Wyclef Jean’s charitable organization Yéle Haiti. It was
here that Ali found her calling—the trip reminded her of just why she had earned
her degree (from George Washington University) in human services, nonprofit
management. Following her return from Haiti, Ali was put on the overactive (read:
24/7, literally) account of the Wyclef for president campaign. Coming in with no PR
background, Ali tackled the industry (near and far) and showed that in just a
year’s time, nothing is out of reach.

Since she started with ERWW PR, she has recruited and hired more than 20
people and created and staffed our college internship program, a paid work study
that included eight full-time interns from Yale, Cornell, New York University
and her alma mater, GWU. One of her peers said this: “Ali interviewed me for my position
at Euro, making her the first person I met here. She was filled with excitement
about her own job, as well as the one I was about to enter. No duty is too big or
too small for Ali—whether going to London or Haiti at the drop of a hat or making
binders until 10 p.m. She is the one to go to with questions: If she doesn't have
the answer, she will, somehow, always find it. In a short time, Ali has navigated
the channels and complexities of Euro and uses that knowledge to flawlessly
accomplish any task sent her way.”

We’re nominating Ali for this award as she leaves the agency to oversee HR
functions for Yéle Haiti. (Her work impessed them, too!) We are excited for Ali for
her new opportunity, with the full expectation that our partnership will continue—
just with different roles, objectives and headed even higher.
