Company: Big Fish Nation
Company Description: Consulting and coaching company that offers business development programs exclusively for Women Entrepreneurs
Nomination Category: Individual Categories

Nomination Title: Lorin & Company

Describe for the judges the nominated individual's activities and accomplishments that supported women in business during the eligibility period (up to 500 words):

Lorin Beller Blake has formed a team of women coaches to support women
entrepreneurs exclusively. Lorin’s vision is that women can be great moms, run a
wildly successful company, and be the CEO of their lives and have a smile on their
face at the end of the day. Lorin has been supporting women entrepreneurs
exclusively since selling her company in 2001. She, with a partner, started and
built a technology business and after building it to a 3 million dollar firm
they sold
it.

Lorin took her learning and experience and wanted to support women in creating
sustainable companies. She formed a team of certified women coaches to
support women entrepreneurs’ exclusively. The entrepreneurs have accomplished
such amazing goals, some of which are: transitioning from partnerships to sole
leadership of large companies, selling their companies, launching their dream
businesses, creating 6 and 7 figure businesses, designing a business that creates
much more free time, and so many more big goals that have women feel both in
charge and fulfilled. Putting them in this list seems to make them minuscule
but if we remember that each accomplishment is a women life and a goal achieved
which provides her amazing confidence, a big boost of self esteem and a role
model for her children.

This year, Lorin, launched their Star Fish program where women entrepreneurs
from the United States receive coaching, mentoring and are inspired to accomplish
the biggest things they have not yet accomplished while supporting and mentoring
another women entrepreneur from either a 3rd world country or a women form a 3rd
world country that is here in the United States. The group has supported and
mentored Tererai Trent, the women from Africa who was featured on Oprah last
year for achieving the goals she had written on a piece of paper and buried under a
tree, knowing that if her husband found them, she would be killed. Her goals were
to get to the United States and receive an education. This past year she became
Dr. Tererai Trent, with her doctorate degree. Tererai, has successfully launched
her business this year, and continues to accomplish amazing goals both
personally and professionally with a wide range of support from her Star Fish
sisters. The Star Fish program has helped all the participants learn that no
matter where we are from in the world, our challenges are so similar and the support we
need is exactly the same no matter if you are from the United States or a tribe in
Africa.

Lorin’s team has supported hundreds of women during this time period in achieving
their dreams and goals. And her approach is different than that of most other
business coaches. She incorporates what she calls a ‘spiritual approach to
success combined with hard care business strategies and tactics.’ Women
respond amazingly well to such an approach and feel both guided to be successful
and with great opportunity to learn and grow at the same time.
