Nomination Title: Keith Borman, Business Development Manager

1. Tell the story about what this nominee achieved since the beginning of July last year (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:

Over the last year and a half (and throughout his career at SDL) Keith Borman
has demonstrated an extraordinary talent for developing new business. As
a "hunter" dedicated to engaging with new marquee accounts Keith has brought
on board a who's who of legendary Silicon Valley organizations, including
Cisco Systems, Yahoo, VMware, NetApp, Hitachi Data Systems, Facebook, as well
as other west coast clients like Charles Schwab, Kaiser Permanente, Starbucks
and Business Objects. In doing so he doubled his quota for the year, by far
exceeding all previous SDL corporate sales records for individual revenue
contributions.

Not only did he double his quota this year; he also signed a prominent client
to a long term multi-year multi million dollar per year agreement, the largest
of its kind at SDL for North America. He did all of this despite a major
downturn in the economy and a major organizational shift within SDL.

Keith has an infectious curiosity and energy directed toward better
understanding technology, the dynamics of the sales cycle as well as his
client's specific needs. Attending events, meeting with clients, networking
with others, and reaching out via consistent cold calling all combine to
produce dependable top performer results year after year- the true mark of a
consummate professional.

The knack for understanding how to present the right solution at the right
time, the tenacity to see opportunities through to their optimal conclusion as
well as when to integrate appropriate elements from the extended sales team
are some of the attributes that set Keith apart.

Understanding that sales is a profession and a craft that requires constant
nurturing, education and re-education helps keep Keith at the cutting edge of
his profession, and helps contribute to the value he brings to all of those
around him. He takes it upon himself to refine that craft, learning new
techniques and methodologies, and then melding them as befits each client
interaction.

While remaining outwardly focused, Keith has also contributed to the growth
and development of those around him within the organization. This interest in
the success of the overall team manifests itself in many forms, including
suggestions to others regarding strategies, tactics, helpful books, podcasts,
relevant industry trends, events, groups, and technologies that all contribute
to the success of colleagues and the organization as a whole.

Recognition of corporate goals, initiatives and mandates all play a role in
making Keith an even more valuable resource to our organization. Not only does
he win business- he wins the right kind of business the right way. Rather than
going for a quick win, he instead focuses on developing productive
relationships built on honesty and responsiveness, with an emphasis on long
term thought provoking partnership.

All of these attributes have contributed to a truly significant year for Keith
Borman, our nomination for Sales Manager of the year.
