Tell the story about this nominated product or service (up to 500 words). Describe its function, features, benefits, and sales to date:

As sales professionals compete to retain and grow their businesses, it’s essential that they develop trusted relationships with their customers. LexisNexis Smart Meeting was developed to help sales professionals deepen customer relationships by better preparing for sales meetings through just-in-time reports about customers, competitors and trends shaping the marketplace.

Launched in July 2012, LexisNexis Smart Meeting is an innovative mobile-friendly meeting preparation tool for sales professionals that delivers the latest news and information on customers, prospects and business partners via email right before a sales meeting. LexisNexis Smart Meeting works by pushing a snapshot of timely company information – such as breaking company news, executive moves, M&A activity, corporate financial results, and product and competitive developments – to any end user device, including iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Android, MacBook, PCs and other devices.

LexisNexis Smart Meeting generates a company report by pulling the latest relevant information from LexisNexis’ collection of over 26,000 news and business sources and 80 million company profiles, the largest and most comprehensive database of company and executive sources and news available in the market. The tool is easy to install; all it requires is a quick and simple download and LexisNexis Smart Meeting integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Outlook Calendar.

According to a recent research report from global market intelligence firm International Data Corporation (IDC), half of all B2B sales professionals were described as unprepared for initial customer meetings. LexisNexis Smart Meeting helps rectify this situation by helping to ensure that sales professionals are fully prepared for meetings with an up-to-date, comprehensive overview of news and background information delivered right before a meeting, or at any requested time.

LexisNexis Smart Meeting increases the effectiveness of sales and business professionals by deepening their customer, prospect and partner relationships through staying on top of key trigger events and breaking news. Sales professionals can quickly and easily review the LexisNexis Smart Meeting report as they are travelling to a meeting, or waiting in the lobby, and be confident that they are equipped with the latest intelligence about the customer, prospect or partner. This deep knowledge helps sales professionals increase their credibility and close more deals.

The product has been received very well in the market place, with companies bundling LexisNexis Smart Meeting with their other sales intelligence and research needs. Sales organizations ranging from less than ten to several hundred are choosing to empower their sales professionals with LexisNexis Smart Meeting, making sure they are better prepared for their customer calls.
