1. Tell the story about what this nominee achieved in the past year (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:
As President and CEO of ProV International, Ajit Nair is responsible for developing and executing business strategies to ensure ProV's success. He leads a senior management team making strategic decisions in regards to the operational approach and direction of ProV in the IT industry.
Established in 2003 under the leadership of Nair, ProV International grew from a staff augmentation company of a few employees to a systems integration and applications development firm of about 150 employees and consultants servicing the healthcare, manufacturing and retail industries with their Information Technology needs. ProV employs a global workforce of senior consultants as a means of bringing quality, valued services to IT consumers. A global workforce supports a 24-hour work day, which in turn provides faster turnarounds as well as constant access for clients.
To support this speed, in 2005 Nair established a training and development center in Tampa, Florida, and a development center in Mumbai, India, enabling accessible, collaborative application development and the ability to provide global IT solutions in a quick and cost effective manner. ProV's consultants get trained on Siebel Analytics and SAP by seasoned trainers. Having in-house consultants insures ProV can round up a team of experts within 24 - 48 hours to meet the IT needs of its clients.
One of Nair's abilities is recognizing challenges and focusing on a solution providing a quick turn-around. Nair identified a problem and commissioned ProVs Technical Recruiting team to put together a team of analysts to help with a web-based project for a healthcare client. The project scope was to assess the existing network infrastructure, recommend new technologies, and write design specifications that enabled web deliveries across the existing network to and from the intranet portal. Approval of the entire project by the
clients Corporate Committee hinged on a successful design specification. ProVs Recruiting team assessed the client's needs and recruited five, highly specialized consultants with solid credentials on similar projects. The team was placed to work in the clients offices under the clients supervision. ProVs rapid assessment, team formation, and successful resolution was critical for this time-sensitive project. The ProV team took 90 days to develop and present design specifications to the clients Committee. They
green-lighted the $16 million project based on ProVs precise work.
Nair believes in helping with his communitys growth. In 2006 he established and is overseeing a major recruiting effort in Tampa and all of Florida to recruit and employ recent MS graduates. Nair is an active member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE), a group of successful Indian entrepreneurs who focus on ideas to grow businesses and contribute back to their communities. He is also a member of the San Jose, California, chapter, an important network and business link between Florida and Silicon Valley.
Nair's hands-on approach and influence on ProV's overall success is evident in the company's financial results. In 2003 revenues were about $300 thousand. In 2004 the company had a 500% growth achieving $5 million in revenues. In 2005 revenues doubled to $10 million.
