Walsall Council
As part of a small consortium, Vertex awarded preferred supplier status for the
largest ever-transformational outsourcing contract of its type - estimated value of
£650m. Covers 21 critical services and 2000 staff transfers. It included an
innovative approach to commercial structures involving risk/reward.
 
DWP Government Department
Contract supporting HM Government initiative to modernise payment of benefits to
citizens. The customers comprise disadvantaged groups in the UK.  The sale
included the largest Siebel roll out in Europe plus the recruitment of 1500
customer management staff.  Innovative solutions were devised to deal
sympathetically and effectively with benefits claimants, leading to improved take-
up and government recognition as a highly successful project.

Internal and external surveys indicate improved customer satisfaction with the
services delivered to the Public Sector accounts.

As Public Sector Sales Director Richard is responsible for strategy and sales, with
the objective of establishing Vertex as one of the top three BPO organisations
within the sector and increasing sector contribution to 35% of the company's
turnover.  Prior to joining Vertex he worked for XXXXX, where he was latterly
employed as Sales Director in the IT Services Division.
 
Richard started his career as an engineer but has over 30 years experience of
working with and for the public sector.  He has also worked for the public sector
divisions of other leading organisations.
