Citrix MetaFrame Secure Access Manager extends access beyond applications to internal documents, Web content, and services—securely and tailored to each user’s needs. Unlike Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) or Enterprise Information Portals, which are costly, time-consuming to set up, and require extensive customization and consulting, MetaFrame Secure Access Manager provides a cost-effective and secure way for employees to connect to their individualized applications and information from any location.
MetaFrame Secure Access Manager is seamlessly integrated with other products in the MetaFrame Access Suite, bridging Windows and the Web to provide simple secure access. Users can access Windows, Unix, and Java applications via the Internet – anytime, anywhere.
Secure connectivity over the Internet. MetaFrame Secure Access Manager provides fully secure access over the Internet to applications and information without the cost or complexity of a VPN. Using industry-standard encryption technology, all traffic between the client and the server is secure without the need for pre-installed client software, letting users access the network from almost anywhere, even public cafés.
Personalized user experience. MetaFrame Secure Access Manager can be easily tailored to address specific business needs. Role-based access provides administrators the ability to deliver meaningful information on a need-to-know basis, according to each employee’s job function. Users can further personalize their access by rearranging content and selecting desired color themes.
Easily find enterprise information when its needed. MetaFrame Secure Access Manager puts the entire enterprise into a single point of access. From corporate documents and information to Web content and business applications, everything is available at everyone’s fingertips. Workers can quickly access and search information resources from a single Web browser, dramatically improving organization efficiency.
Little to no programming necessary. MetaFrame Secure Access Manager is built on a flexible architecture. With little to no programming, MetaFrame Secure Access Manager can give users access to MetaFrame server-based applications, as well as intranet sites, content and services. Deployments can be customized with Web Forms, Web Parts, and tools for creating customized Content Delivery Agents (CDAs).
Synchronization for Microsoft Outlook. MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.2 provides greater levels of mobility by enabling roaming workers to synchronize a locally installed Outlook application, whether connected over the Web or within the enterprise. This allows users to work with Outlook for email, calendar, tasks and contacts when they can’t be connected to a Microsoft Exchange server. Outlook synchronization is seamlessy enabled and secured when connectivity becomes available again via MetaFrame Secure Access Manager’s SSL encrypted communications.
Securing alternative user interfaces. MetaFrame Secure Access Manager 2.2 now supports “alternative user interfaces.” This powerful new feature allows administrators to securely integrate existing intranets, Web pages and enterprise portals such as SAP Enterprise Portal, IBM WebSphere, and Microsoft SharePoint into their access infrastructure while still taking advantage of MetaFrame Secure Access Manager’s role-based access control, MetaFrame Presentation Server integration, and SSL-based secure connectivity. This new functionality also gives customers greater flexibility and allows organizations to leverage past IT investments while defining and executing on their overall access strategy.
