HS Ad Recognized as the Agency of the Year for 2016

HS Ad won the Agency of the Year Award for 2016 at the Seoul Creative Festival of Film Advertising held on January 17. This award is given to the agency that produced the most outstanding ad in 2016. HSAd won great praise for its “Ssuk=SSG” ad for SSG.COM, a smash hit in the Korean advertising industry in 2016. The “Ssuk=SSG” ad campaign was extremely popular for its witty, clever ex-pression of a slide of a screen with a finger and shopping via a mobile app as well as a combination of sophisticated and refined scenes, brief dialogue with a humorous twist, and upbeat sound.

HS Ad Sweeps the Korea Advertising Awards

HS Ad received three grand prizes at the 2016 Korea Advertising Awards ceremony held on November 23. The Korea Advertising Awards are the most prestigious advertising awards in Korea. With the latest awards, HS Ad produced grand prize-winning ads for a sixth consecutive year. The three campaigns that brought grand prizes to HS Ad this year were the “Reunion with Korean Cultural Heritage Exhibition” campaign for LG Electronics in the promotion category, the “University Student Design Contest” ad for Korean Air in the print ad category, and the “Guest House” campaign for Korean Air in the integrated media ad campaign category.

The “Reunion with Korean Cultural Heritage Exhibition” campaign for LG Electronics introduced valuable Korean cultural assets that are not in Korea because they had been taken overseas. In collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Administration and KBS, HS Ad filmed about 40 pieces of Korean cultural heritage in the collections of major museums in the US, Russia, Japan, France, Germany, and Canada from August through October 2015 in ultra HD and 3D video format and showed them in excellent picture quality of LG OLED TV at Gyeongbokgung Palace and the National Palace Museum of Korea from October through December 2015.

HS Ad Wins Awards at the Cannes Lions

With the Remedies for the Soul campaign for Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture, HS Ad won a Silver Lion and a Bronze Lion in the Pharma section of the Cannes Lions 2016.

The Remedies for the Soul began for the purpose of healing the tired souls of people living in the modern world. Discomforts people feel in their minds were diagnosed and classified into 20 diseases based on their symptoms, and remedies using drawings and writings are dispensed by a special vending machine for KRW 500, which is used as a donation.

HS Ad Beijing Subsidiary Obtains Baidu Search Ad Business Right

The Beijing Subsidiary obtained the search ad business right of Baidu, China’s largest search engine. This is the result of Baidu’s strong assessment of HS Ad’s status in the Korean market, its portfolio of diverse advertisers, and worldwide presence. The business right to search ads allows the Beijing Subsidiary to provide more extensive digital ad marketing service to Korean companies that seek to enter China. Last year, the subsidiary opened Hanzmung, a WeChat-based mobile marketing channel. It also plans to open a sales network in Korea to handle the WeChat operation service and Baidu search ad sales.

HS Ad Bangkok Subsidiary Launches Digital Business The Bangkok Subsidiary was chosen as the digital marketing service master agency of LG Electronics Thailand and began providing the service in full scale in April. It is to provide the service for the entire digital sector, including LG.com 4.0 launch, SNS, media, and campaign. A team of five digital professionals was set up in the first quarter of this year.
