Tell the story about this nominated product or service (up to 525 words). Describe its functions, features, benefits, and performance to date:
E2open (NASDAQ: EOPN) is the leading provider of cloud-based, on-demand software solutions enabling enterprises to procure, manufacture, sell, and distribute products more efficiently through collaborative planning and execution across global trading networks. Enterprises use E2open solutions to gain visibility into and control over their trading networks through the real-time information, integrated business processes, and advanced analytics that E2open provides.
Market trends toward globalization and outsourcing have changed the game, as companies struggle with how to manage business across today’s complex trading networks. E2open offers the industry’s first and only strategic solution for addressing this need via the E2open Business Network, a collaborative platform that serves as a single version of the truth for brand owners and all of their trading partners.
FY2014 was a stellar year for E2open in terms of cloud-based technology subscription growth (with the highest year-over-year growth rate in subscription revenue in 12 quarters), performance in the market, product development and the July 31, 2013 acquisition of icon-scm, a market leader in supply chain planning and collaboration. By combining icon-scm’s integrated planning and analytics capabilities with the E2open Business Network, E2open has expanded its market opportunity and solution portfolio, accelerated its product roadmap, and extended its position as the leader in the collaborative planning and execution space. On a broader scale, the acquisition of icon-scm represented an important component of E2open's mission to redefine traditional supply chain management designed to facilitate collaboration across today’s global trading networks of brand owners and suppliers. E2open continues to build on its cloud-based platform and grow in the supply chain technology space as a whole.
In February 2014, as part of a continued evolution from the icon-scm acquisition, E2open released a new version of its E2 Planning & Response product, which includes “what-if” scenario and simulation capabilities, network planning visualization and analytics, and SAP-certified ERP adapters. These enhanced planning capabilities are now available via the cloud, furthering the facilitation of collaborative planning and execution across the extended trading network.
With today’s complex, global supply chains, it can be extremely taxing for businesses to pinpoint the location of the real constraints in their current production and delivery plans. Traditional planning systems lack timely, comprehensive data to create trustworthy plans that consider demand priorities and supply constraints. The missing piece is often execution, as they also lack fast problem resolution, scenario and decision support capabilities to manage trade-offs. E2 Planning & Response was built to overcome these challenges.
E2open CEO Mark Woodward shares the following perspective on the version 11.2 release, “Integrated supply chain planning and execution is a significant differentiator for E2open. Extending the power of the E2open Business Network into supply chain planning will provide a substantial competitive advantage to our customers.”
The E2open cloud-based supply chain management platform is used by some of the most well-known brands in the world. A snapshot of customers includes: Celestica, Cisco, Dell, HGST, HP, IBM, L'Oréal, LSI, Motorola Solutions, Seagate, and Vodafone. In 2013 alone, E2open has shown tremendous new customer subscription growth, such as Audience, Avnet, Elo Touch Solutions, HP, Konecranes, Land O’ Lakes, Lufthansa Technik Logistik, OnCore Manufacturing Services, and Yanfeng Visteon.
