The site http://www.walmartstores.com was designed to streamline four
existing corporate sites into a single, easy-to-navigate corporate information
source for customers, associates, journalists and career-seekers. Usability
feedback shaped new and improved features including: improved search function
using Google search appliance; purchasing key words associated with special
events and announcements; cross linking and tagging all content so that users
can go from one page to another related item without searching; and social
media tools allowing visitors to share content with their social network. Font
size, color contrast and the wording of menu items were also adjusted to
maximize ease of use.
