Nomination Category: MIS & IT Categories
Nomination Sub Category: Best MIS & IT Executive

Nomination Title: Mike Landry, Founder and CTO

  1. Tell the story about what this nominee achieved since January 1 2007 (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:

First and foremost, Mike Landry is an anomaly among company founders. Usually
once a start-up becomes successful and a new executive team takes control, the
founder becomes no more than a team mascot. Not so for the Mike. Not only is he
the founder, but he has earned the title of CTO, strategically guiding the
company to new opportunities, but with new markets and new solutions.

For Servigistics, 2007 was a record year, largely due to Mike’s investment of
time and energy. Revenue grew more than 50 percent and Servigistics increased
international revenue from 30 percent to 35 percent. Not only did it mark the
highest revenue in company history, but Mike personally closed the largest deal
in company history (well over $5 M). More importantly, Mike helped close ten of
the top 20 largest deals in company history. Needless to say, due to Mike’s
Strategic Service Management vision; where the people, parts, prices and
knowledge involved in service operate together on a single data model; the
average deal size increased significantly. Best in class companies don’t need
just parts management, but also pricing, knowledge and field technician
management. Five new customers purchased multiple solutions and several
customers added new solutions to their parts management success. In addition,
Mike closed Servigistics first major Service Workforce Management deal at
Coca-Cola Enterprises (name not to be disclosed), displacing one of
Servigistics’ fiercest competitors, as well as Sears (parts and pricing – name
not disclosed) and AGCO (parts and pricing).

Despite a completely booked schedule and spending four out of five days on the
road, Mike added two new solutions to the Strategic Service Management product
suite: service workforce management and service knowledge management. While
service knowledge management was officially launched in Q1 2008, we started
selling it in 2007. Mike also spends time sharing his SSM vision to press and
analysts – even during his favorite past-time with his favorite team: the Boston
    Red Sox.

Mike was also named a “Pro-To-Know” by Supply and Demand Chain Executive, which
demonstrates his leadership and expertise in the post-sale service logistics
market. And while Mike didn’t win a Stevie last year, I hope that you
re-consider him for the 2007 Best Executive Award. Ask anyone here at
Servigistics and they’ll agree: Mike’s the Best. Bar None.
