    R.R. Donnelley provides products and services across the communications value chain. We help customers around the world prepare and produce effective communications and then efficiently deliver them. -To strengthen R.R. Donnelley’s offerings in 2002, we expanded our premedia products and services and introduced innovative telecommunications and technology solutions. -R.R. Donnelley’s increasingly efficient logistics business grew package volumes 26 percent in 2002.

    R.R. Donnelley has a strong presence in North America and serves key markets in Europe, Latin America and Asia. In 2002, we opened the Shenzhen Donnelley Bright Sun printing plant in Shenzhen, China, to reach the China market and produce there for export to other countries.

    The R.R. Donnelley Foundation, identifies meaningful ways to give back to our communities in support of the written word, children and youth. Last year, the Foundation provided grants for local high schools, donated books to more than 30 communities and helped fund an expanding library. Our outreach includes sponsoring college scholarships for children of employees, and a program so secondary-school-age students who are children of employees in non-U.S. locations can study abroad for ten months.

    Bill Davis has served as chairman and chief executive officer of R.R. Donnelley since 1997, and assumed the role of president in January 2001.

    Before joining R.R. Donnelley, he spent 20 years at Emerson Electric Co., where he held several senior positions, including president of Appleton Electric Company.

    Davis serves on the board of directors for the Marathon Oil Corporation, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Chicago Urban League, Evanston Northwestern Healthcare and the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. Davis is also a director of United Way of Metropolitan Chicago and 2002 General Campaign Chairman.
