Nomination Title: Smart911 Connect

1. Tell the story about this nominated product or service (up to 525 words). Describe its function, features, benefits, and performance to date:

Today, if you contact 9-1-1 the only information presented to the operator is your caller ID and some level of location information based on the type of device from which you are calling. While there is a wealth of information that may provide valuable insights into how to help you, including such things as medical history, floor plans, nearby AEDs, car crash data, and emergency contacts that data has not previously been easily accessible to 9-1-1 or the first responders.

Smart911Connect is the only way to deliver data from applications directly to 9-1-1 and first responders when someone calls 9-1-1. Smart911 Connect, based on the patented Smart911 platform, provides the first open, standards-based programming interfaces for third parties to deliver diverse data sets automatically to 9-1-1 when a user makes an emergency call. Based on the callers address or phone number, Smart911 Connect will rapidly search for relevant information and automatically display the information integrated into the 9-1-1 call takers existing workflow.

The solution is implemented on a public-safety grade geo-redundant cloud infrastructure. Smart911Connect is already delivering personal medical and emergency contact data from smartphone apps such as the ICE Emergency App, health record information, and has demonstrated delivery of real-time telematics data delivery with OnStar. Other partner integrations under development include home and health monitoring system data. The end result is that emergency responders are armed with the information they need to effectively respond and resolve incidents.
