Prositions revenues have grown rapidly (over 1,000%) from its first full year of operation. In 2014, it experienced its most significant revenue growth to date. Over that time period, Prositions expanded from a handful of customers to well over a hundred companies and government agencies. With the release of the latest version of its software application, MentorString, in 2014, the growth of Prositions is expected to accelerate even faster.

To fuel this rapid growth, Prositions successfully completed two rounds of angel investment in 2014, bringing the total raised by the company to $5 million. The latest round, completed in October, added another $2 million.

The design concept for MentorString is simple. It has the ease of use of a social/mobile app with the underlying power of an enterprise class platform. If you use LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter, you already know how to use MentorString.

MentorString comes with a robust set of tools that allow for collaboration and virtual mentoring. Mentors can conveniently work with mentees anywhere in the world and anytime, synchronously or asynchronously.

MentorString leverages all the employees within an organization who want to connect and help others. It allows senior executives to coach high potential employees. It even allows for Reverse Mentoring, where these same high potential employees can assist senior level executives. In fact, anyone with knowledge and expertise can help others, no matter what their tenure or level of responsibility. This new Democratized Coaching and Mentoring model cuts the overall delivery and administration costs in half, while significantly increasing the quality of the experience and performance results for the employee.

The most unique feature of MentorString is a new, patent pending, tool called a String Diagram that shows how users are connecting and sharing valuable information and knowledge within the organization. Users can quickly access this tool to easily find and collaborate with other users. They can also use the String Diagram to identify discussion groups and communities of practice areas within the organization.

One of the critical problems facing most collaboration and social networking applications today is the lack of active employee participation. With many internal collaboration programs, like Yammer and Jive, typically there are a lot of “lurkers” who occasionally read comments but do not actively share knowledge and information. With MentorString, because a user’s profile and interactions are tied to their careers, advancement and recognition by senior executives, it generates significantly higher levels of participation. Based on this, our research indicates that nearly 5 times the number of users become actively involved and contribute to MentorString compared to other traditional collaboration systems.

June of 2014, MentorString was recognized by CEO/CFO magazine as an up-and-coming technology for the Human Capital Management space.
