In the 2013 calendar year, PMK•BNC received multiple accolades as an agency including Honorable Mentions of “Mid-Size Firm of the Year” from PR News’ Platinum PR Awards and “Consumer Agency of the Year” by The Holmes Report. Additionally, co-Chairman/CEO Michael Nyman was named to The Holmes Report’s list of “25 Innovators of PR Business” for the strategic positioning of PMK•BNC as the experts on pop culture.

With a storied history in talent publicity, PMK•BNC possesses a plethora of exceptionally influential publicists within the entertainment industry. As an individual highlight, 35-year PMK•BNC veteran, Heidi Schaffer was presented the “Les Mason Lifetime Achievement Award” by longtime client Sally Field at the 50th annual ICG Publicist Guild Awards (the highest honor bestowed on a guild member).

One of our most celebrated client accomplishments this year was our content creation work with Audi. Always striving to create content that will break through the crowded landscape, PMK•BNC conceptualized, scripted and produced a digital short for AUDI titled “The Challenge,” starring Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy. The video was immediately praised by both media and the marketing industry, was ranked #1 on Reddit.com’s homepage and the #1 most viewed video on YouTube in over 56 regions of the U.S. It was awarded Digiday’s Video Award for “Best Brand Use of Video for Entertainment” and has been a finalist for several other notable awards. The video received incredible national media attention from outlets including, “Good Morning America,” Variety, Mashable, USAToday.com, ETOnline, WSJ.com, Adweek.com, and others.

Many of PMK•BNC’s account teams have attained accolades this year, including Samsung’s Galaxy Studio which received the “Best Mobile Promotion” award at Chief Marketer’s 2013 PRO Awards. The pioneer program provided premiere destinations where thousands of consumers learned about Galaxy devices, received loyalty benefits and assistance and support on device set-up and care.

Additionally, PMK•BNC co-hosted the first Los Angeles-based Entertainment PR Round Table with leading industry publication PRWeek. The event, created to shine a spotlight on an often overlooked business within the broader public relations industry, opened as a breakfast Q&A with The Recording Academy/The Grammy’s CMO, Evan Greene, and was followed by a round table discussion with some of LA’s most prominent communications executives.

PMK•BNC experienced growth in revenue for the second consecutive year with impressive new business and organic growth. With a diverse and rapidly growing staff, headcount has also increased. In 2013, PMK•BNC committed to putting company culture at the forefront of our priorities, launching an inaugural “Camp Week” with the aim of boosting morale, uniting employees through cross-departmental collaboration to achieve common goals, igniting company spirit and providing staff members with an opportunity to give back to their community.

PMK•BNC has a triangular leadership model led by Michael Nyman (Co-Chairman/CEO), Cindi Berger (Co-Chairman/CEO) and Chris Robichaud (CEO).

A 26-year veteran, Nyman is a leading authority in bridging the worlds of entertainment and brands. Nyman operates and charts the course for PMK•BNC which boasts an impressive roster of entertainment and brand clients across offices in Los Angeles, New York and London.

An undeniable force in the media, Berger has received multiple honors for her outstanding work. Berger represents such iconic artists as Robert Redford, Barbara Walters and Mariah Carey and oversees many award-winning film campaigns.

Robichaud possesses a rare dual-understanding of both entertainment and corporate brand marketing/communications, utilizing that foundation to help clients navigate the digital landscape through application of the “Science of Popular Culture.”
