Hyundai needed to close the gap between digitally savvy and less digitally experienced journalists by re-creating its online media room, Hyundai News.com, to fit the expectations of all journalists. The objectives of the redesigned site were: 1) new, enhanced look and feel and 2) improve the user experience by increasing traffic, while reducing the time spent on the site as information could be accessed faster. The new site has a newer, more robust Microsoft framework, improved flexibility and site performance, and added visual elements. There also was an increase of 40% in traffic compared to the outgoing site. The average number of pages viewed per session decreased from 3.02 to 2.25 pages as journalists were able to capture information faster.
