The Cleveland Clinic has emerged as one of the nation’s leading exponents of
quality in health care.  It has moved aggressively to define quality, establish the
best practices, and put these practices into effect for better, safer, more cost-
effective patient care.  This annual report shows how we consolidated our
efforts to take ownership of quality, to quantify it, define it, and ultimately epitomize
it in every activity, for the benefit of patients, the health of the community, and the
advancement of science and medicine around the world.
