Introduced in May 2012, Articulate® Storyline® is the first e-learning authoring tool that’s simple enough for beginners and powerful enough for experts. With Articulate Storyline, e-learning authors can create interactivity, software simulations, and virtually any type of assessment with unrivalled ease and speed. Articulate Storyline includes one-click publishing to Flash, HTML5, and Articulate Mobile Player, a new iPad app that provides the best viewing experience of e-learning content on the iPad.

Articulate Storyline is the only e-learning software that grows with you. If you’re a beginner, you can get started with Storyline without training, and build amazing interactivity in minutes. Then, as your skills grow, you can use Storyline’s incredible power to create nearly any type of content imaginable. For the first time ever, you don’t have to sacrifice power for simplicity. Innovations such as slide layers, triggers, and states in Articulate Storyline revolutionize how e-learning authors create interactivity, there’s no programming required.

Combining the simplicity of form-based authoring with the flexibility of slide-based editing, the quizzing features in Articulate Storyline make it remarkably easy to create 20 different types of questions. E-learning authors can also use free-form question types, such as drag-and-drop, to rapidly build assessments from any objects on a slide. Advanced quizzing features in Articulate Storyline include question pooling, randomization, and the ability to score a learner’s progress at multiple points in the course.

The software simulation and screen recording capabilities in Articulate Storyline drastically simplify how e-learning authors create simulations. They record a screen session once and then insert the recording as step-by-step slides: choose View mode to demonstrate a task, Try mode to let learners attempt the task, or Test mode to assess how well learners complete the task. Because Articulate Storyline processes each screen recording after capturing it, authors can go back at any time to choose a different mode or fine-tune frames—without re-recording.

Getting e-learning content to learners everywhere is simple with Articulate Storyline. Storyline includes industry-leading Section 508 support, making it widely accessible to learners with disabilities. It also supports right-to-left languages, including double-byte character sets required for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. With a single click, authors can publish courses to multiple formats so learners can interact with content on their iPads, desktops, and more. Storyline publishes to Flash, which is supported by a vast majority of personal computers, and to the Articulate Mobile Player, a native iOS application that optimizes the viewing experience on iPads. Storyline also publishes to HTML5, an increasingly popular format for delivering content with rich multimedia and interactivity.

Storyline has earned many industry accolades since its debut last May. Built from the ground up as a brand new, fully comprehensive, all-in-one elearning authoring solution, Storyline shines above legacy competitive products that have been enhanced in an attempt to copy several of Storyline's core features. But, customers prefer Storyline.  Among corporate and academic customers, it has become a market share leader within the e-learning authoring tools space and continues to garner industry praise.
