Nomination Title: Andrew Yeager: National Sales Account Executive

  1. Tell the story about what this nominee achieved in 2002 (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:

In 2002, Andrew Yeager had the most successful single year of any account executive in Muzak's 72-year history. Period. He is the first account executive in the history of the company to bring in more than $100,000 in monthly recurring revenue. He shattered all previous sales records, signed a string of major national clients, including Caribou Coffee, Payless Shoe Source, Men's Wearhouse, and Lane Bryant. He brought Muzak into a combined total of almost 3,000 locations, and he did all this while maintaining his relationship with all his existing clients. In a word: phenomenal.

"Muzak is an amazing company to represent," said Andrew. "It is this 72-year-old institution, that has the inventive drive and the flexibility of a start-up." Part of why Andrew can sell Muzak so successfully is that he has contributed directly to our company's ability to reinvent itself in better, more intelligent ways. He worked closely with Creative Director, Alvin Collis, to develop the concept of Audio Architecture, a process of branding in which music is used to create an emotional bridge between a customer and a company's brand.

Andrew's knowledge of Muzak's philosophy enables him to convince businesses to come on board. One of the biggest accounts he signed this year, Men's Wearhouse, which has over 500 locations, had refused to even consider the idea of in-store music before Andrew talked to them. Only after Andrew and Alvin gave the company a dynamic capabilities presentation, was Men's Wearhouse able to see the incredible benefits that Muzak brings to the retail experience. "My job is just to tell our story," added Andrew. "Not only can we enhance a brand in all these amazing ways, but we also have a national service network of over 200 local offices to provide a level of service that's as strong as the product they're supporting."
