GENERAL GROWTH PROPERTIES, NES RENTALS, O’NEAL STEEL, AND RUTH’S CHRIS STEAK HOUSE TO RECEIVE HONORARY STEVIE AWARDS AT 2ND AMERICAN BUSINESS AWARDS

The Stevies will be presented on May 10th in New York City

New York, NY – April 29, 2004 – Gearing up for the business world’s biggest night of the year, The American Business Awards announced today that General Growth Properties, NES Rentals, O’Neal Steel, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House will be the recipients of 2004 honorary Stevie Awards recognizing excellence in American business.  

The American Business Awards are the first national, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace. 

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” the awards will be presented at ceremonies on Monday, May 10 at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers in New York City.  Rhonda Schaffler, New York Stock Exchange senior correspondent for CNNfn and CNN Business News and anchor of CNNfn’s Market Call, will host a 5:00 pm ceremony for awards in categories for advertising, web sites, and other forms of corporate media.  Ali Velshi, anchor of Your Money and The Money Gang, two CNNfn programs, will host a second ceremony at 9:00 pm for awards in all other categories, including Best Overall Company, Best Executive, and Best Support Staffer (secretary – Administrative Assistant might be a better word), among others.   Tickets for the awards dinner and ceremonies are now on sale.

Honorary Stevie Award recipients are chosen by select American Business Awards sponsors.  This year’s participating sponsors are Miller Heiman, a global leader in building exceptional sales organizations, and Ultimate Software, a leader in delivering Web-based payroll and employee-management solutions to organizations of all sizes.

The 2004 honorary awardees include:

• O’Neal Steel, Inc. of Birmingham, AL, which will receive The 2004 Miller Heiman Sales Excellence Award
• General Growth Properties, Inc. of Chicago, IL, which will receive The 2004 Ultimate Software Award for Innovation in HR Web Self Service
• NES Rentals Holdings, Inc. of Chicago, IL, which will receive The 2004 Ultimate Software Award for Technology Innovation for Financial Impact
• Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Inc. of Metairie, LA, which will receive The 2004 Ultimate Software Award for Innovation in HR Technology Systems

The ceremonies will be videocast live on the Internet by Digipict, Webcast in a Box, and Speedera Networks.  They will also be broadcast on radio, commercial free, by the BusinessTalk Radio Network.
